Every bedroom looks much livelier with pretty curtains or perhaps shades. There are many different ways to cover windows. Here are three easy ways to do it.

Sheer curtains allow light into a room while providing privacy and maybe hiding a not so nice view. You can top the sheer with a decorative silk swag or a puffy cloud valance, loosely knotted at the corners of the window. This not only can enhance a well-proportioned window but can also cover faults in the window that does not look so good. The swag can match the colors and pattern of the room or in a child's room choose the valance to match the bedding.

Dress up a child's bedroom window in a creative and playful way by stenciling a plain pull-shade with something to match the child's decor, accessories, decorative pillows or maybe use applique for the walls and shade that coordinate and go together to create a theme. Children love to help make things for their rooms, let them be creative and have fun. Curtains are not always the way to go, just the stenciled shade and perhaps a valance matching the theme chosen for the child's bedroom will be just the right and perfect, simple way to go.

There is also window sun catchers. Children enjoy making these and its easy to arrange on the windows to match the decor, accessories, bedding or just use leaves of the season or moon and stars, too many ideas to mention. My favorite is dream catcher. These are pretty and each have a way of calming a child at night, the dream catcher catches all the bad dreams and lets the good ones filter back into the room.
